SOUL IN ISLAM

Soul is the true self of every living being, once out of the body, it will never get into body before the Day of Judgment. The concept of rooh or soul in islam is very different from other religions. It is common perception of people that soul can come again to this world and soul can take revenge and never leaves without it is satisfied. All these are plain stories there is no soul that can ever come back to this world from barzakh once it leaves the body at the time of death.

AL-Quran 6:060 –

Sura/Chapter 6: الأنعام The Cattle | Aya/Verse 60

“It is He Who takes possession of your soul at night, and He knows everything you do by day. Then He lets you wake up for the next day. (This happens) till you complete the prescribed period _ (your life span). Finally, towards Him is your ultimate destination. At that time, He will tell you everything you used to do.”

60. وهو الذي يتوفاكم بالليل ويعلم ما جرحتم بالنهار ثم يبعثكم فيه ليقضى أجل مسمى ثم إليه مرجعكم ثم ينبئكم بما كنتم تعملونIt is He, Who takes your souls by night (when you are asleep), and has knowledge of all that you have done by day, then he raises (wakes) you up again that a term appointed (your life period) be fulfilled, then in the end unto Him will be your return. Then He will inform you what you used to do. ٦٠.

Soul is made of Nur i.e. pure light. The pure light belongs to ALLAH only. This pure light cannot harass people out of its body. This noori structure cannot escape or break the code of ALLAH. It is the shaan of ALLAH swt that if he entered soul into us one time HE can do it several times, but every soul is given only one chance to enter this world and to pass its defined time. Once the time is over soul is taken back.

Nur (also spelled Noor, Nor, or Nour, Arabic: نور‎, Hindi: नूर) is a common Arabic unisex name meaning light.

An-Nur, meaning “the light” in Arabic, is the 24th sura of the Qur’an.

ALLAH swt has not made death as a factor of fear for us, but death is a lesson for those who are still alive. A dead person becomes helpless. He cannot move himself according to his desire, because that is just a dead, lifeless structure.

The real self of you is your soul. Your soul will see what will come to you after death. You should prepare for that which will come to your way for sure, you should not fear those dead bodies. Soul is that part of us which will leave us after our turn in this world is over.

[Man cannot shift his responsibility to vicarious saviors or saints. His redemption depends upon the grace of God, for which he should constantly and whole-heartedly strive by means of right conduct. If he does so he will be REDEEMED. ]

[redeem- compensate for the faults or bad aspects of, gain or regain possession of (something) in exchange for payment, fulfil or carry out (a pledge or promise).] [When the reckoning comes, each soul will stand on its own personal responsibility. No one else can help it. Full justice will be done, and all the seeming inequalities of this world will be redressed].

Ahmed Raza Khan: Mohammed Aqib Qadri:
O mankind! Fear your Lord Who created you from a single soul and from it created its spouse and from them both has spread the multitude of men and women; fear Allah in Whose name you claim (your rights from one another) and be mindful of your blood relations; indeed Allah is always seeing you.

 

Yusuf Ali:
O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;- reverence Allah, through whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (That bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.

Pickthal:
O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord Who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath spread abroad a multitude of men and women. Be careful of your duty toward Allah in Whom ye claim (your rights) of one another, and toward the wombs (that bare you). Lo! Allah hath been a watcher over you.

“0 mankind reverence your Lord, who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath scattered countless men and women.” ………… 4:1

[5:105] O you who believe, you should worry only about your own necks. If the others go astray, they cannot hurt you, as long as you are guided. To GOD is your ultimate destiny, all of you, then He will inform you of everything you had done.

0 ye who believe Guard your own souls, if ye follow (right) guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who stray. The goal of you all is to God: it is He that will show you the truth of all that ye do.”5: 105

41:46

Whoever does righteousness – it is for his [own] soul; and whoever does evil [does so] against it. And your Lord is not ever unjust to [His] servants.

“Whoever works righteousness benefits his own soul, whoever works evil, it is against his own soul.” –41:46

Surat Al-‘An`ām (The Cattle) – سورة الأنعام

6:164

Say, “Is it other than Allah I should desire as a lord while He is the Lord of all things? And every soul earns not [blame] except against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.”

“Every soul earneth only on its own account, no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. Your goal in the end is towards God: He will tell you the truth of things wherein ye disputed (differed).” 6:164

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) – سورة البقرة

2:186

And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

On no soul does God place a burden greater than it can bear (in terms of material wealth or spiritual duty).” —2:286; 23:62

Surat Al-Mu’minūn (The Believers) – سورة المؤمنون

23:62

And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged.

Surat Al-‘A`rāf (The Heights) – سورة الأعراف

7:42

But those who believed and did righteous deeds – We charge no soul except [within] its capacity. Those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.

“But those who believe and work righteousness, – no burden do We place on any soul, but that which it can bear.” 7:42

Surat ‘Āli `Imrān (Family of Imran) – سورة آل عمران

3:30

The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present [before it] and what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that [evil] was a great distance. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Kind to [His] servants.”

“On the day when every soul will be confronted with all the good it has done, and all the evil it has done, it will wish there were a great distance between it and its evil.”3:30

Surat Al-Muddaththir (The Cloaked One) – سورة المدثر

74:38

Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained.

Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.” 74:38

Surat An-Naĥl (The Bee) – سورة النحل

16:111

On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged.

“One day every soul will come up struggling for itself, and every soul will be recompensed (fully) for all its actions, and none will be unjustly dealt with.” 16:111

Surat Al-Qiyāmah (The Resurrection) – سورة القيامة

75:2

And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].

“And I do call to witness the self-reproaching Spirit.”75:2.
SLEEP AND DEATH:
“It is God that takes the souls at death, and those that die not during their sleep. He keeps that (soul) for which He hath ordained death and dismisseth the rest till an appointed term. Verily in this are signs for those who reflect.” 39:42

Surat Az-Zumar (The Troops) – سورة الزمر

39:42

Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

THREE STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE HUMAN SOUL:

1. AMMARA: Which is prone to evil and, if not checked and controlled will lead to perdition (total destruction, ruin),

2. LAWWAMA: Which feels conscious of evil, and resists it, asks for God’s grace and pardon after repentance and tries to amend; it hopes to reach salvation;

3. MUTMAINNA: the highest stage of all, when it achieves full rest and satisfaction. The second stage may be compared to conscience, except that in English usage conscience is a faculty and not a stage in spiritual development.

These astonishing images are said to show the human spirit (in blue) leaving the body.
Russian scientist Dr konstantin korotkov claims that the pictures show the exact moment of death.
The images show “the soul” gradually slipping out of the body before the patient’s image turns red…

The activity of konstantin korotkov, deputy director of the st. Petersburg research institute ofphysical culture and world-renowned authority on kirlian photography, was recently highlighted by life.ru. Korotkov is the developer of the gas-discharge visualization (gdv) technique in kirlian photography.

Now scientists have taken gdv photographs of a person as he was dying. In the photos, it could be seen that the area of the belly lost its life force (the purported soul) first, followed by the head. The heart and groin were the last to lose their life force, in that order.

Scientists using the gdv technique say that the aura of those who die unexpectedly or violently differs from those who experience a calm death. The souls of the former remain in a state of confusion for several days and return frequently to their bodies, especially at night. Korotkov ascribes that phenomenon to unused energy retained by the soul. He suggests that the gdv technique will also have applications for distinguishing genuine psychics from frauds.
